Twenties Girl

A few weeks ago a friend on my course asked me to do a spot of modelling for her final major project; the theme was the glamorous, 20's era. Although I had so much to do at the time I of course agreed to help her out as I know how stressful it is trying to get everything done! She only needed a couple of outfits, as it was for a 20 page book showing different aspects of that period. I styled the outfits together, and had so much fun! Usually of course I am the one behind the camera, and I'm no model really but it made quite a nice change- a novel experience! Here are a small selection of shots from the day...

chocolate fur coat: river island, leather driving gloves: new look, green beaded velvet devore scarf: river island, brown & gold devore velvet scarf: vintage, faux pearl headband: vintage, black faux snakeskin peep toe platforms: faith (all stylists own)

white beaded sheer shift dress: river island, hold up style tights: topshop, purple devore velvet scarf: vintage, black fur wrap: vintage, large white ostrich feather earrings: topshop, black beaded headband: vintage (all stylist own apart from earrings)

Vogue Calender 2011

I received  a beautiful Vogue calender for crimbo...I love these vintage will go perfectly in my room with all my other vintage trinkets!

March - my birthday month!!

New Beginnings

Somebody asked me what my new year's resolution was the other day...and to be honest I haven't really considered one yet! I always make the same ones...better time keeping...don't leave my work until the last healthier... stop overspending...and I always end up breaking them a month into the new year! So I may be best if my new year's resolution, was not to make one; that way I won't end up feeling bad about myself!

Happy Holidays ♥

Hope everyone had a magical Christmas x

Mary Katrantzou- Ready To Wear Collection for Topshop London Fashion Week

So I was just taking a peak at the latest trend reports for S/S 2011 and came across Mary Katrantzou's ready to wear collection which was showcased at the new Topshop space at London Fashion Week. Her designs are so unique and innovative- this collection was entitled 'C’est Ci Nes Pas Une Chambre' which translates to 'This Is Not A Room'; which it most definitely was not.  The collection consisted of skirts, dresses and tunics which all had digitally printed images of a room or part of one; each combination showing a surreal 3D esque scene. Skirts were conveyed as lampshades with beading along the hemlines, and shoulders and hips were draped with fringing and tassles and necklines adorned with chandelier style embellishment and trailing skirts mirrored that of drapes and curtains. The whole collection viewed together depicts a very much 'outside meets inside' mood. It is said that Katrantzou was very much inspired by Helmut Newton and Guy Bourdin's fashion editorials, in which the interiors are often set up in a rather graphic way. You can see the full collection at, but for the time being, here are a few of my personal favourites!
